Sweet Baby Annabelle

We have a new baby in our ward!  Shauna Cole has a new grand baby girl, Annabelle!  She wanted me to invite our ward sisters to the baby shower!  The party is tomorrow, Sat. January 11th, at Papa's Pizza, 6:45 pm.  The baby came 7 weeks early.  Mom and baby are fine!  The parents are in need of supplies!  Please check the list below and see if you can bring something to help them!  If you are not able to come to the party and still want to help, please see Angie McFarlane or drop by the Cole's home!

They are in need of a baby tub, baby towels, a crib set, both warm blankets and receiving blankets, a bouncer, diapers, wipes, bottles (Avent or Dr. Browns brand.  They are best for air prevention.), and probably everything else you can think of for a new baby.  Please spread the word and say hi to Shauna and family at church Sunday!

January Book Club

Book club friends,
In January we will read The Egg and I by Betty MacDonald. Katie Ross will be our host on Tuesday January 28th. That gives you plenty of time to squeeze this read into this crazy time of year. Hope you have a happy thanksgiving and merry Christmas!

Peaches

This may be a long shot. I'm very sorry for the short notice.

Contact me pronto if you want to take advantage of a great deal on Peaches. They are 16.00 for a 25lb box. There are three drawbacks to this deal. 1) They are all the way up in Oregon City so I'm hoping someone who has a big vehicle will take interest in this deal. I've already got peaches so I'd rather not drive there. 2) I need to get the order together by 5:00 Thursday, so you need to get yours to me before then. 3) The peaches need to be picked up on Saturday.

If you are interested in peaches go ahead and give me a call. I cannot guarantee this will all work out, but we'll make an effort to make it happen!
Also, you might plan on contributing a little gas money.

Pears!

Pear Guy is preparing to deliver pears to our area again this year – Pears ripen to Mother Nature’s timetable, but we expect delivery between August 15th to 30th.  We must give The Pear Guy our orders by August 1st to insure receiving our complete order.   You can order yours now to be picked up at Jen Cochran's house.   The pears will be in 40 pound boxes for $26.00 ($0.65 per pound).  The way grocery prices have been climbing, this looks like a great value.  You may want to split a box with a neighbor, or order ten boxes J for yourself and one for your neighbor and invite them to come over and can with you.  The pears will be delivered C.O.D. so we must collect the money in advance in order to hand The Pear Guy one check at the time of delivery.  Makes checks payable to Jen Cochran.   FAQ - Check out www.The Pear Guy.com.  Any questions contact Jen or Karin Cochran jbair53@hotmail.com or thepeachplace@gmail.com

Spring is coming!

The last few days of beautiful sunshine has served as a reminder that spring is on it's way. It is time to start thinking of gardening. Bi-mart has their seeds 50% off if anyone is interested in checking out their selection. (That may have been through today, I will check tomorrow to see if the sale is continuing on...) Also we have several moves coming up, please look for sign-ups at church to help these families get on their way! Another thought is that with better weather ahead, there will be more opportunity to serve. Look for opportunities to serve in the ward, in our community, with our neighbors and very importantly within our families! Last, if you see something worthy of sharing, please let me know! I'd like to make this blog a place to visit, not just because you think you should, but because there is always something worth seeing! I'd love any suggestions! Have a great day!
